Guarnaschelli was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America in 2007. She took on Cat Cora at the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 and was the winner. Since then, she has been a judge on the show. She was also a contestant on The Next Iron Chef in season 4 in 2011. Also, she participated on the Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast episode, but lost the event. After the conclusion of The Next Iron Chef's 4th season, she was made sous-chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian. In 2008 she became the host of The Food Network's The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli in which she instructs an intimate group of students teaching them how transform classic meals.
